Lissa McGowan Pierson is a multi-media and interactive artist who views her work as a journey of self-discovery and uncovering the unknown.

Her early years with portrait and still-life in oils evolved to seascapes, landscapes, and still life in watercolors. After 40 years with realism, an epiphany took her in a new direction of freedom and creativity... discovering and exploring the unknown using abstraction as her vehicle.

Her creative process provides a full life experience, a calling, a spiritual, mental and physical journey. She believes that the abstraction invites viewers to their own creative processes.

She is currently producing large works using her pouring technique combined with expressive brushwork and vibrant color studies. She has also created works allowing the viewer to move, reorganize or change the work in some way. She is a "green" artist by choosing non-toxic products and using the excess paint runoff for other art works. Lissa has found her Nirvana in this creative exploration into the unknown and the unseen.
